Welcome to the TrigNet Web Application
HERE YOU CAN:
Download pre-defined Receiver INdependent EXchange (RINEX) formatted data files;
Generate user-defined RINEX formatted data files (through the Reference Data Shop);
Access current tracking conditions within the network (through the Sensor Map);
REGISTRATION:
Users MUST register on the Trignet website in order to access real-time services and the detailed TrigNet network information data. The registration information will only be used for the statistical monitoring of downloaded data.
INTRODUCTION TO TRIGNET:
TrigNet consists of a network of continuously operating Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) base stations that are located throughout South Africa at an interstation spacing of between 80km and 300km (see Sensor map). Each base station is equipped with a GNSS receiver and a geodetic choke ring antenna that are used to record Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) observables, which currently comprise of Global Positioning System (GPS) observables on its L1 and L2 frequencies and GLONASS observables on its L1 and L2 frequencies, at an epoch interval of 1 second.
The data is continuously streamed from each TrigNet base station to the TrigNet control centre, which is located in the Mowbray (Cape Town) Offices of the Chief Directorate: National Geospatial Information. The TrigNet control centre processes the data, publishes the post processing data files on the website and streams real-time corrections to users.
TRIGNET'S REAL-TIME SERVICE:
The service is provided via the internet using Networked Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol (Ntrip).
Real-time data access:
Internet Protocol (IP) address: 196.15.132.2
Internet Port : 2101
User Security : Username and password.
Real-time service offering:
>>Single base Real-time Kinematic (RTK) corrections that are supplied in Radio Technical Commission for Maritime Services (RTCM) V3.1 format from all the TrigNet base stations;
>>RTK solutions generated within a Virtual Reference Station (VRS) network are available within the Western Cape (Langebaan, Malmesbury,Stellenbosch, Worcester, Hermanus, Cape Town and Cape Point), Gauteng (Brits, Soshanguwe, Bronkhorstspruit, Middelburg, Ermelo, Secunda, Heidelberg, Benoni, Vereeniging, Krugersdorp and Pretoria) and Kwa-Zulu Natal (Mooi river, Greyton, Stanger, Scottburg,Ixopo, Durban and Pietermaritzburg).
TRIGNET'S POST PROCESSING DATA SERVICE:
Data access:
The data service is provided through a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) link within the TrigNet website.
The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for this link is ftp://ftp.trignet.co.za.
Post processing data offering:
All post processing products refer to Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) as time standard.
---Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) = South African Standard Time (SAST) - 2 hours
No guarantee is given that all data will be available at all times. Equipment and/or communication failures may result in data loss or delay in data retrieval.
Daily and hourly RINEX formatted files containing content and recording rates as follows:
----L1 and L2 code and carrier phase data at a 1 second epoch rate;
----L1 code and carrier phase data at a 5 second epoch rate;
----L1 and L2 code and carrier phase data at a 30 second epoch rate
The Daily RINEX files are published one (1) day after the data capture.
The Hourly RINEX files are published 40 minutes after the hour of data capture.
The "Reference Data Shop" facilitates the generation of user-defined RINEX files for selected TrigNet base stations and/or user-defined Virtual Reference Stations.
